Chitwan. The Nepali Congress leader and former minister Dr Minendra Rijal said it is not person but robust institutions to ensure democracy.
‘Not a strong man but strong institutions are essential to cement democracy and system,’ Dr Rijal stressed, adding that a robust constitution is equally important.
He hoped that both the system and constitution warrant strengthening in the government run by the NC and UML.
‘Both system and constitution would be reinforced once NC and UML became responsible for competitive democracy,’ he reminded.
According to him, although the majority government could deliver to people’s expectation, it was reverse for indulgence in political equation and calculation.
He reminded that parties need paying heed to public trust.
